Are you looking for a new career opportunity? Or have you just graduated and are you ready for your first professional position but don't have any experience yet?
It is all possible! The following tips and tricks will help you to convince your future employer of your capabilities.

You surely know that a good first impression is very important. And your CV is often the first contact between you and your potential employer. Recruiters and employers only spend 12 seconds assessing a CV. So a good first impression is crucial!
Do you want to be invited for an interview to stand a chance of getting that one job? Then it's important to make sure your CV stands out from the competition.

But precisely how do you do this?

There are many ways to upgrade your CV. But let's focus on the fact that it's your skills and experience that your future employer pays the most attention to. If you already know how to differentiate yourself from others then you are well on your way to getting the first interview. We are talking mainly about skills that you managed to develop yourself. A nice internship where you learned to work independently? Or that one extra free training (Google platform) that you followed to expand your knowledge

Would you like to stand out in a different way? Then be sure to add some volunteer work, student work, or hobbies... to your CV.  This way you show that you like to learn new things, take initiative and dare to take responsibility. After all, each job teaches you a different skill set.  If you have worked for well known companies or clients, be sure to mention it!
By adding hobbies, you reveal a bit more of your personality: Running, for example, shows that you are disciplined while blogging shows that you are creative. And this is exactly what your potential employer wants to know!

  • Know your strengths, and match them with the job requirements of the vacancy

Do you have some specific skills/experiences that are required for the job? Then be sure to highlight them! If you have any gaps in your CV, you will be able to turn the focus away from these data and stand a better chance of being invited for an interview.

  • Always choose quality over quantity

So highlight those skills that other applicants do not have. It is nice to know that you can handle Ms Office but do you have knowledge of programming languages, drawing programs, CRM systems then be sure to mention this, so you can distinguish yourself from others!

What also attracts attention and is important to mention is what you hope to achieve in your career. For example, you can talk about what you have to offer the company and how the company/function can help you to grow or to realize this goal.

Finally, be sure to highlight where you live, especially if you are applying for a position near where you live. After all, it's a great asset (to you and the client) if you live near your job!

Finished with your resume? Then leave it for a few more hours, or overnight, and reread it with a clear mind. Chances are you'll still be able to find some small mistakes.

We wish you the best of luck!
