Senior Security Engineer

Company

Bimona is looking for an experienced Security Engineer for a service organisation in the Brussels region. The assignment starts as soon as possible, your focus is identity and access management, and you know OAuth and OpenID Connect well.

Part of your week goes to keeping the security tooling running. The rest goes to projects that develop and strengthen it. You work two days a week at the office and can work from home on the other days.

Function Senior Security Engineer

  • Keep the security tools running: you set them up, fix issues, handle maintenance and support their users.
  • Manage the identity side: user accounts, provisioning and the components behind access management.
  • Work out which security requirements a system needs and turn them into solutions that work in practice.
  • Monitor the security systems and improve their observability.
  • Make sure only authorised users get into the systems.
  • Write security procedures and propose changes to policy.
  • Colleagues, managers and executive management come to you for technical security advice, especially on OAuth and OpenID Connect.
  • Help employees understand and apply the security procedures, among other things through training.

Profile Senior Security Engineer

  • Experience as a Security Engineer. You know how to run security tools, solve problems in them and improve them step by step.
  • Hands-on knowledge of authentication: OAuth and OpenID Connect, plus directories such as OpenLDAP and Active Directory.
  • A strong grounding in identity and access management, in concepts as well as tools.
  • You know your way around application firewalls and web services.
  • You’ve worked according to SSDLC, RUP and Agile.
  • Scripting on Linux, Windows or both.
  • You explain technical security advice clearly, whether you’re talking to a colleague or to executive management.
  • You spot security risks early and keep your knowledge of systems and methods up to date.
  • Fluent Dutch or French, with a good command of the other language. Your English is strong.

Nice to have: experience in network security, and with Auth0 web services.

Offer

  • An assignment until the end of 2026, with an extension in 2027.
  • Contract: freelance or as a Bimona consultant
  • Hybrid work: two days a week at an easily accessible office in Brussels, up to three days from home.
  • Room to take initiative.
