BI Finance Solution Designer

We are looking for a BI Finance Solution Designer to strengthen a growing data and analytics team. In this role, you help the organization make faster and better-informed decisions by making Finance data insightful and actionable.

You act as the bridge between Finance business needs and technical solutions. You design data and BI models and deliver solutions that support real-time insights and smart decision-making.

• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand, refine, and document BI requirements.

• Serve as the central point of contact between business teams and technical developers (Data/Analytics Engineers, BI Developers).

• Design high-quality conceptual data models for analytics, such as star and snowflake schemas.

• Develop and maintain a BI solution plan including data sources, transformation processes, and visualization specifications.

• Work with engineers to ensure accurate, structured, and timely datasets.

• Guide BI Developers in building dashboards, reports, and semantic models that meet agreed standards.

• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and assist in prioritizing BI solutions.

• Review and validate BI solutions to ensure they are accurate, user-friendly, and performant.

Data Skills & Expertise

• Experience with financial reporting and dashboards, preferably based on SAP S/4HANA Finance & Controlling, combined with other BI technologies.

• Knowledge of Finance processes such as General Ledger, Cost Accounting, and Asset Accounting.

• Ability to translate business needs into BI and data solutions.

• Document BI solutions, data models, and business definitions for different audiences.

• Knowledge of reporting and data visualization best practices and dimensional modeling.

• Experience in data analysis, profiling, and exploration.

• Design scalable and well-managed BI datasets and solutions using Power BI.

• Analytical, problem-solving, and results-oriented.

Plus Points:

• Experience with Budgeting & Forecasting processes.

• Knowledge of Data Lakehouse architectures and governance (e.g., Azure Databricks and Unity Catalog).

• Experience with dbt and Data Governance tools.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum).

• Experience in the energy sector is a plus.

Languages

• Fluent in Dutch or French.

• Good command of the other national language and English (B1 or higher).
